In-Depth Summary
Listen to Jeannette talk about the past |
The Glass Castle is a story that brings many surprises, occasional laughs and tears, and is overall an emotionally charged story. This story is not for the faint of heart, as it is full of traumatic moments, starting from the very beginning where a three-year-old Jeannette is severely burned while she is cooking. This book is not hard it get sucked in to, as it peaks your interest from chapter one and does not stop until the final page. The fact that this book is a memoir and that the author actually experienced everything she wrote about is unbelievable to me. From an early age, Jeannette had to overcome just about every challenge possible to become successful. I would highly recommend this book to people who are in need of inspiration or motivation, as well as those who can relate to the challenges of growing up in a dysfunctional family.
